Unread threads being marked as read

I have noticed that when I browse the forum in the morning and then come back later in the day that threads that I did not read have been marked as read. Am I missing something, is this a setting, and is there a way to turn it off?

This is a universal setting and anything "unread" times out after about 45 minutes after you last are active in the forum. There is no user-accessible way to modify this timer.

Thanks for confirming that it is happening and the conditions. I don't like it, but I'll live with it.
