    Motion detector light ??

    Hi Folks,

OK, here's my question: I have a two-bulb motion detector light at the corner of my shop. It's the kind that automatically goes off during daylight, shines a dim glow at night, and lights brightly when motion is detected. Two days ago I replaced a burned out bulb, and now the other (older) bulb behaves as it did, dimming and brightening, but the new bulb stays on bright all night long. Any ideas why?

    Swap Bulbs.....

Swap bulbs in positions and see what stays the same and what changes....

Could be just a corroded connection in the socket of the bad bulb or the soldered connection for the bulb to the socket of the bulb could be intermittent.

Swapping the bulb will tell you something. Normally both bulbs are driven on the circuit board by a common Triac. The wire nut connection could be loose tying the 2 socket black wires to the circuit board red wire.

    Good Luck,

    AL
