    Guesses on how this rail is attached?

    Anyone know the strongest way to attach the top rails (the crown part) on these head and footboards?

    On the last bed with that feature, that I built, I used a stopped dado. Make the top rail on the head/foot boards taller to fit into the dado, so it is proud of the post ends, and don't attach to the posts.
