    General 650 Question

    Ok stealth gloat here...

I'm waiting for my General 650 to come in. Hopefully it should be at the dealer this week. I know it does not come with a plug so I bought a 250v 20A twist lock to match my existing 220 line in the shop. However, does General ship them with a cord? If so, roughly how long is it?

I'll post pictures to make it a confirmed gloat as soon as it arrives.

Mine did not come with a cord.
Where did I put that tape measure...

  3. Nor mine. I bought a 50' 10GA 220V extension cord from the BORG--a bright yellow one, even, so I know which plugs are 220 and which are 110. Not that I wouldn't figure it out by looking at the actual plug, but, well, there you go.

And yeah, my CDs are alphabetized too.

Guys thanks for the feedback. Off to Home Depot!

Is the door removeable? When I last looked at it at the WW show I thought I recall it being removable if the wing was off.

Since it is made in Canada, I'm assuming the bolts are metric.

I need to strip it down to move down a flight of stairs to go in the shop. I've been debating on using an appliance dolly or sliding it down on a pair of 2x6's.

We still use imperial bolts here in Canada and so does General!!! Metric fasteners are not nearly as common as you may think up here.

Mike, hope you enjoy your new saw, I really like mine, although if I were going to do it again I'd buy a Hammer or Felder.

I moved mine down the stairs into the basemnet with a hand cart, and the help of my wife. I did remove the motor from it, and if I remember correctly, the extension.

The saw doesn't have a line cord, I used 14/3 SEEOW on mine.......Regards, Rod.
