    Universal Laser Banding

Hello, I am working with a new PLS 4.60 60 watt Universal laser and I seem to be getting vertical banding when I laser on white ceramic tile. I called a tech and he seems to think its the bearings but the laser is brand new so i was just wondering if anyone has had similar issues with their laser and if so was there a different issue and or solution to the banding?

    Sylvia,

It is more than likely the X axis belt tension. Did your rep already do the installation? If so call them and see if they will come out to adjust it. If they have not then have them adjust it when they do the installation.

Have you tuned that material? If not, I'd suggest following the instructions in the manual for "tuning" in a piece of material. It'll cost you 1 piece of material, but I think it might help resolve your banding. Might not, but it's a step towards making sure your settings are tuned to the material.
