    Sawing Bench Ideas

I am thinking that I want to build a sawing bench and seem to recall some threads on here not that long ago about sawing benches but cant seem to find them now. Anyway, I am wondering if anyone has thoughts on what the important design elements are as well as a good height. If you have pics of your sawing bench please post them as well.

    Thanks!

    Here's one

Here's a link to Chris Schwarz' blog article on his bench. I think there's a plan in there somewhere.

Here's the link to the article which contains a link to a very basic "measured drawing" of the bench in pdf.

    My sawbench

Mine is a little different...had I not already built this one, I probably would have copied Chris' design.

I really like the idea of having a few benchdog/holdfast holes in the saw bench. I'm not crazy about trying to hold the piece with my knee...

I've built chris's and it the ducks guts. I use it to stand on to change lights. (great height for me i'm 6' ceiling is 10'...
I sit on it at lunch, a wide top makes it very comfy.
I didn't put the shelf in and it's great.
Same height as mention in C S's artical

can't stack them very well though.

    Good luck

    Jeff,

I messed up and accidently posted this in Luis linked thread for which I apologize.

In 2006 Harry Strasil posted a tutorial on building a saw table (bench).
