    general 130 value

what is a used general 130 worth? Seen one for sale for $500. Emailed the guy with some questions about it, but have not heard back from him yet. $500 sounds cheap, but I really have no idea about the condition or year. The ad says it works good. All input is very much appreciated.

A new one is $5000 and up here in the great white north I have seen 130's that look like they have been hit by and truck and survived a fire go for $1000+. A good condition used is $2500+.

In Canada they dont go as low as $500, in any condition.

A 14" planer made the way tools were made in the US in the 50s and earlier. If you can get your hands on one for a decent price, I highly recommend it.

I suspect he is not answering your e-mails because the machine is sold. At the price it would not last an hour in the classifides where I live.

A good friend of mine says when looking for good used machines "you need to be very patient and very fast." What he means by that is you may have to wait months for the machine you want to come up in the classifides but when it does you need to jump on it right away. Start asking the seller a bunch of questions and he will sell it to someone else.

This is never more true than when talking about General machines.

I notice the machine you are talking about is in Edmonton......

The guy still has it. Doesnt know the age and says that it is missing the lower drive belt cover and some panel bolts. I ordered a steel city 15" last week after waiting months for a decent used machine to come up. Just my luck. Im in the edmonton area if anyone is interested I got the guy's #
