I'm thinking of making one as a Christmas present this year. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to obtain movements for one?
thanks in advance.

You can try Klockit. They have all sorts of electronic and mechanical movements.

I've also used Klockit and have been very satisfied with their prices, service and quality.

I "third" the reference to Klockit - they have all sorts of clock movements - and the kits if you are so inclined.

Another vote for Klockit. Always good product and service. I would not recommend Wildwood. I have received defective movements with just the handful of orders placed with them. But they do have some great clock plans.
Scott,
Though I've used Klockit, I settled on clockparts.com as their selection seems to be more comprehensive.
Good luck,
