    Suggested Blade for a RAS

I realize that a negative hook blade is suggested for an RAS. I would like to put a new all purpose blade in my CMan RAS after replacing the blade guard and table. Are there any suggestions for a 10" blade at or around $50.00?

    Thanks

Dwain, I have a Frued LU91R010 blade on my RAS. It's labeled as their "Thin Kerf Sliding Miter" blade.

It's a little over your price point - Amazon has it for $65.

    Here are the specs:
    10"
    60T
    ATB Grind
    5 degree negative hook

It's an awesome blade and works fantastically on my RAS.

    Be well,

    Doc

Either of these are good possibilities:

The second one is currently on sale for $60.

    Never used and infinity blade

    Jeff,

Thanks for your response. Have you used infinity blades? What is your take?

You say negative hook then you ask for an all around blade?

Two different things if you plan on ripping with the saw.
The Mr Sawdust blade, is available ONLY through Charles at Forrest (you might google Mr. Sawdust too). The POOR man's version is a Freud, LU83r010 (not negative angle, and slightly more aggressive then the Mr. Sawdust blade, which is a 5 degree positive angle).

Hi Dwain - I've used the Infinity 010-060 that Jeff referenced on my TS, and think it's a pretty impressive blade for most general purpose work, and is outstanding for tearout free crosscuts, ply, and sheetgoods

I also like the Freud LU83R008 blade. Unless you have a really big saw, all you probably need is a 8" blade. A blade stiffener also works really well.

I use Infinity blades on both my table saw and RAS. They are top quality, make impressively smooth cuts, and are a great value. (Good router bits, too!)

Usual disclaimer - I'm not associated with the company - simply a satisfied customer.

    Thanks for the info.

I appreciate the feedback. I don't believe I was very clear. I will be using this saw ONLY for crosscuts, and dados. I have a dado blade already. I believe there may be a rare occation when I will cut miters with it, however I have a CMS to use primarily for that. I don't know if that changes the outlook, but I am looking at the Freud and the Infinity blades.

Please let me know if I am "barking" up the right tree.

Dwain, my primary use of my RAS is almost exclusively for dados which it really excels at. For the occasional cross-cut on wide boards the Freud I mentioned is awesome. I have never (and will never) rip with my RAS.

    Be well,

    Doc

Then any of the ones with a NEGATIVE hook angle are what you would prefer.
