Hi Creekers, Just have a quick question. In the search for a laser for the purpose of photo transfer, and sense there are many different lasers i would like to know what kind of laser one has and what is the capibility of grayscale wether it be 1 bit black and white or 8bit grayscale.

Thanks for all the great comment love reading them

Most of us here have CO2 lasers.

There are some materials where you can get a graduated burn (paper, wood) and the effect is *similar to* an 8-bit greyscale image. Usually you're going to get a 1-bit result...either you burn a hole or you don't. We normally end up faking different tones with a good dithering program (Photograv is the current winner).
