So I was at an incredible estate sale today, see my posts in classified for items for sale. Anyway, I picked up these planes. The narrower one looks to me to be a scrub plane. The iron is thick and tapers. The mark is very hard to read, but the plane is marked Reed & Auerbach. Interestingly, a user appears to have stamped the plane "F. Uhl Austria"
The wider, looks to be a smoothing plane. Blade is mounted at 45 degrees. Neither plane has a chip breaker. They both have assymetric horns, which are really cool in the hand. This iron is also thick, tapered and bears the mark
Joh Weiss & Sohn, Wien
Images are attached. Any info on origin, age, value, function? Thanks.
