Built-in Cherry Cabinets with Beaded Face Frames

I'd like to thank Jim Becker for sharing his finishing schedule and wisdom with me for this project. The finish is one coat BLO, two coats dewaxed-shellac, and 3-4 coats of Target USL.

These cabinets were a real time killer. They took me two months to complete and install.

The carcasses and drawer bodies are Maple. Everything else is Cherry. Even the bead board backing is solid Cherry. The face frames have the bead milled into them and all joints are jack-mitered and reinforced with Dominoes. The exception being the arches...for those I milled the bead into the edge, ripped it off, cut the arch, then re-applied the bead. Cutting the jack miters on the arch sections was also a lot of fun, as they were off angles (like 52 and 42 degrees). To cut the jack miters, I followed Lonnie Bird's method of using the table saw and a miter gauge with a sacrificial fence.

VERY, VERY beautiful shelving. BTW, was that a project for yourself or for a client?
