Thread: Corian adhesive

    Corian adhesive

    Our woodturning club wants to participate in the Freedom Pen Project. We have just received the Corian. Is there a special adhesive required to glue the blanks together? Looking forward to a response as we want to get started. Thanks Bill Westerbeck, Cumberland Woodturners, Crossville, TN.

    I have used both ca glue and epoxy. Had a couple of the epoxied parts come apart so maybe was clamped to tight. No problems with the ca. Have a fountain pen made with two pieces glued together length wise and can't even see a joint.

    I use gel super glue (CA) exclusively for Corian. Clamp and let dry overnight.

    Polyurethane

    When I am laminating bands and then gluing to the wood blank, I use polyurethane glue for everything, clamp, and let sit overnight.
    This works.
    Here is an example.
    It must be somewhere

    You can see some of these bands in the scan in the thread below
    showing my fifth 15 pens.
