Visit With A Creeker - Dan Smith

Dr. SWMBO and I took a little drive tonight up to Dan Smith's place about an hour north of here to pick up some cherry he had available "at a good price". We had a great visit with Dan and his lovely wife as well as the fifty cent tour. He's doing a great job in his upstairs remodel--their house will soon be both a show-place as well as the perfect environment to raise their family.

    Jim,

We enjoyed your visit as well. Hopefully, you will enjoy the wood that you picked up. Did you make it to Johnny's or stop some place else? Spent some of saturday planning some of the boards left outside. Many of them actually clean up pretty well considering.

    -thanks again,

    -dan

Yes, the Friday night cuisine was Hot Dog Johnny's...excellent as usual. For some reason the dogs always taste better there than anywhere and, of course, the most excellent birch beer one can find around here.

I flattened and skim planed up all the material on Saturday...pic will be in the Weekend Doings thread. You really need to sicker and stack that material in your basement as the MC after skim planing was between 15-20+%, depending on the board. Don't surface to final dimensions now or you will have material thinner than you expect when you go to use it!
