Corel Draw question

I'm trying to cut out a sign with a thick border and I want the laser to cut on the outside of that line. When I change it to a hairline, it wants to cut the entire border out on both sides. Is there a simple way to correct this problem? Any suggestions appreciated.

When I engrave a multiple point (thick) line then change to a hairline I get
a cut right down the middle, in effect a poor man's bevel.

I think what you have, if you look in hairline mode, is two hairlines that are filled. You need to delete the inside one after engraving, or just select the outside one to cut.

I think you have outlined both sides of the border. Delete the outline and create a boundary making sure it is a hairline.
