    WunderCote

    Hello all.
Rockler has a finish called WunderCote and I really like it.
It is a Non-yellowing urethane finish that has a slight amber tint.
What I would like to know is if I can spray it on?
I am not set up to do any spraying, but I was thinking of getting some equipment to start.
    Could I use an airbrush?

    Thanks

If not used this particular waterborne acyrlic finish, but I'd guess it would spray OK because it is fairly thin with viscosity of 25-35 seconds using a no. 4 Ford cup. Whether it really dries fast enough for real comfort in spraying isn't clear.

If you do get spray equipment, you open up a whole range of waterborne finishes designed specifically for spraying from companies like Target and Fuhr. I've used Target USL quite successfully. It's available through Jeff Jewitt (who also sells several good lines of spray equipment and offers info on selecting it.) at his web site www.homesteadfinishing.com

    Thanks for the link Steve.
I am just thinking for right now of just trying an airbrush kit from Hobby Lobby.
The particular project I want to use it on isn't very big.
Do you think it might work or do you think it may splatter on?
I have never used an airbrush so I am not sure what the typically do.

I haven't used an air brush in that way. I wouldn't buy one just for trying on this project unless you know you have other uses for it. You could buy a PreVal spray kit, to essentially make your own aerosol sprayer for a lot less cash.
