Colin, what are you using for graphics software?

I use a program called ACDSee for all my photo organization and resizing.

What I do on the Creek is re-size the image to 800x600 or 800 on the longest side and I have my compression set at 60 in ACDSee. This will give me an image that was over 5 mb from the camera to about 100k or less.

Then I just click on the paper clip at the top of the message box and up load it. Once you have it uploaded you again click on the paper clip and select the image and it puts it on the message.

This was a 3440x2580 image from the camera and was right at 5 mb.
It is now a 800x600 image and is 83k.

Instructions for uploading photos to SMC are at the top of the Forum Technical Support Forum here at SMC. If at all possible, it's preferable for you to upload them here so that they stay with the thread into the future. Remotely hosted photos tend to disappear more frequently than folks imagine, and that takes away from the wonderful content here at the 'Creek.

100kb file size or less and a suggested width of 600-700 pixels is generally a good display size.
