    A "bit" costly

    Am I mistaken or is this the most expensive drill bit ever?

    Yeah. At 3.80/bit, that's not a bad price - if you need 150 at a time. Would be a little less of an initial shock if Amazon made it a little more obvious that this is a "Contractor Pack" instead of an individual bit.

    My father-in-law works for Hallaburton. The smallest bit they make is 6". When the movie Armageddon was made they purchased three bits as props for something like 100K each. But a bit designed to drill 10000 feet is different than one do go a couple of inches.
