I am looking for thoughts on the best type of production vises for a cnc. Ones that are repeatable, accurate, quick change etc.

What kind of cnc machine are you running? With a cnc router I would call them fixtures with a cnc mill I would call them a vise. With my cnc router I tend to make my own fixtures that screw to the spoilboard and use toggle clamps to hold the parts in place. It's fast simple and easy.
these are cnc mills that I am tlaking about and not routers

Depends on what you are doing. Kurt vises are a mainstay in the industry and will outlast the machine and probably you. Chick makes a production vise that has multiple millable soft jaws. This will allow you to cut a profile pocket in to the vise for accurate location of odd parts.

I would second the Kurt vise. They are extremely accurate and keep the workpiece in place when tightened - you don't have to smack it down with a soft hammer like your would with a Bridgeport vise.
