I've spent the last 45 minutes trying to figure out how to "export a pdf into a jpeg" but I have no clue how to do that. Any suggestions?

One option is to use Photoshop to open the pdf file then save copy.

Assuming you dont have Photoshop: Open the file in Adobe Acrobat. Use the snapshot tool (Tools -> Select&Zoom -> Snapshot tool). Select the whole page. Open MS Paint (under accessories) and paste it. Save as jpg.

Have you tried www.google.com and look up "crosscut sleds"? There are numerous sites with detail pictures and plans that can be printed off.
