    Ash Bowl

This is the first none pen item that I have made. I am very happy with how it turned out, I can't wait to try some more now. Thanks for looking.

    Nice bowl Radek.

I don't turn but I have worked the ash plenty before. Did you experience any chip-out?

Radek that is a great looking bowl. Good looking ash wood.

Radek, Good looking bowl. How did the sanding go? I just turned an ash bread board and sanded to 320 grit. The wood fibers seem much harder in some areas than others. The grain is much more pronounced. I would like to try an ash bowl but only have flat scraps at this time.
Looks like you are doing great!

Good looking bowl Radek! So.... how do you like turning bowls? Just a warning - the vortex is very near!

    Thanks everyone.
I did not have any major issues with chip out. Nice sharp tools and no problems.

Sanding was a pain. I went 60 up to 600. Saw that it didnt sand properly, so places just didn't look right, so I re sanded. I think I did 3 cycles. I am pretty happy with how it is now. The design might not be great, but I feel as if I did everything else right.

The Vortex? HA! I am fine with the vortex, I have rooms dedicated to some of my other hobbies, no big deal really.
