Opinions on the Fein Multi Master Clones

Went to the OC Woodworking show this weekend, they had the Fein Multi Master clones on display and for sale: Bosch (cordless), Rockwell, and Dremel - all at least half the cost of a Fein.

Any one have any experience yet with the clones?

    Bump.....

I am going to bump this one because I am in the market for one of these too if the price is right. I have not been able to scrounge up and extra $380 to get the Fein that I want and I am worried that the Bosch will run out of juice if I am going something for a while.

This is the only thing that I found via sawmill:

There was another one but it did not have any review stuff.

I can't imagine that Bosch won't have a fine product.
After all the other companies have had years and years to study the Fien and think of ways to do it better.

I went on Saturday and was ready to buy the Bosch over the Dremel, Bosch was battery. Came home read some reviews about 8 min battery life on the bosch. I went back on Sunday and asked and they said it was too new and couldn't address my question. So I didn't buy any.

I'm not a floor installer, and would use it occasionally - so I'm leaning towards the Dremel at 1/2 the cost. The cord doesn't bother me.

Bosch has a corded version that they sell across the pond. Hopefully it will be released here.

Funny I just saw a Fien Multimaster infomercial this AM and one for the Kregg Jig the other day. Making for a total of 2 infomercials for products actually work.

Amazon has a price of around 309 for the Fien.

I purchased the Rockwell at the OC Show. My intended use could be considered hobby. For less than half the price of the Multimaster, the quality of the unit and attachments appears reasonable. I have not really used the Fein Multimaster.

Be careful on Amazon, I have noticed the previous model of the Multimaster being sold at a significantly lower price.

Fein Multimaster vs. Rockwell vs. Dremel vs. Bosch

There's a good article on each over at toolsnob dot com. The Fein still comes out on top -- even given its higher price.
