    Thick Clear Coat Wanted

    Hey Creekers,

I have a small red oak table that I have stained with Minwax and would like to add a thick clear coat.

While in a restaurant I noticed a bar with a really thick clear coat. The coat appeared to be almost 1/4 inch thick. Any suggestion on how to obtain this thick coating? What type of shellac, laquer, poly, etc should I use?

    Thanks for the help,

    Trent

Here's one product which does that: http://www.systemthree.com/p_mirror_coat.asp

You can get it at a variety of online sources, Woodcraft among them.
