I'm being logged out of a thread. RESOLVED

I’m having a problem with the following thread.

    http://70.169.135.35/showthread.php?p=967961#post967961

Every time I try to open the thread, I’m being logged out of the system. I’ve tried it on other threads and this is the only one that it happens to. Help…………….please.

I think you have to be a contributor to be able to access the tutorial threads.

    Works for me

    Try this one instead, Phil:

    If that don't work try:

Being logged in only works on a single domain - since you posted a link that uses the IP address, I suspect the cookie that keeps you logged in isn't there which would explain you being logged out.

Jason, The links you sent me worked. What is strange is that I have been using an IP address for about a year now and it has worked fine. It also works until I select that one thread and only that one thread and then it logs me off.

I'm not a expert on cookies, except the chocolate chip kind, but I don't think a cookie allows me to log in to a website, allows me to go wherever I want until I select one particular thread before it logs me out. If I do not select that thread, everything works correctly as long as I choose to stay at the site Hello, McFly!!!! I don't think so.

The way around it has been found, but, I sure would like to know why it does what it does.

Accessing SMC via the numeric IP address was a temporary work around for a network issue over a year ago. The site should normally be accessed by the fully qualified domain name sawmillcreek.org or www.sawmillcreek.org as numeric IP addresses can change (especially if/when Keith adds servers) and cookies set will not match properly if the numeric address is used.
