    Several Past Weekend Doings

Actually, this has been a couple of years in the making. I built the lower cabinets and the upper cases and installed them a couple of years ago. But I had never finished the doors for the uppers, wasn't confident enough to do them. After being asked by SWMBO to finish them for the holidays. Having spent several weekends working on the doors, I finally finished and installed them this past weekend.

You may remember that a couple of weeks ago I asked about using single strength glass in cabinet doors. Because most felt that I could use single strength, I proceeded to use glass that I had saved from the old windows of my house that were replaced. Almost all of the panes have either glass "seeds" or a slight wavy distortion to them. I think that it adds a nice character to the doors.

Here are a couple of pictures of my work.

Jim, the doors look great. It sounds like the glass that you used is perfect for them. Single strength should work out fine, especially they are up high and won't be bumped into by people and pets.

Very nice...and you're killing me. I still need to get the glass in my uppers on the wet bar. LOL That part of the project (the last part, I might add) keeps falling through the cracks.

Thank you all for the kind words. It really does feel good to finish something that you've never before attempted and have it turn out well enough to earn praise from this distinguished group.

And Jim, believe me. I know all too well how it feels to have a project that needs to be finished hanging over your head!

    Thank you, everyone.
