    Segmented Leopardwood HF

I have been busy, doing what I don't know for sure. Thanksgiving and getting ready for Christmas just doesn't leave a lot of time. Anyway this is a segmented Leopardwood HF with an Ebony Finial. Measures 6" diameter x 11-1/2" tall. Finished with antique oil and buffed. It contains 217 pieces plus the lid and finial. Comments/critiques always welcome.

Keith..........WOW! I know you said it is segmented but I have a hard time finding any joints!! Beautiful hollow form! Love the form, the colors and the detail work on your finial! This is truly an amazing piece! Saved it to my favorites.... thanks for sharing!

    Very good craftsmanship,

Now for a critique (Disclaimer- i'm ocd about shape and almost never happy with them, but I can't stand when i ask for critique and don't get any so I'll add some in) I'd round over the top part more, seems that the curve is still going slightly and it's cut off instead of flowing into the lid better, possibly same size opening but a small reduction of height might work too.

It's a really nice job though, the lines in the finial are nice and crisp and really add to the piece.

    as nice as they come!

Keith, That piece has it all! I have not done a segmented tuning yet and will have to try some day. What type of glue do you use? Is the wood very dry as to not shrink at all? I think if it had to much moisture the glue joints would raise over time. Does that happen ever? Lot of questions, but a guy's gotta know!

    Great job!
