Coming Soon, Our One Millionth Post

As of today we have 979,990 posts here at The Creek since February 11th, 2003. We are averaging between 800 to 1000 posts per day so it looks like we will see our one millionth post before the end of 2008 or shortly thereafter.

Clearly a celebration will be in order, I wonder who will make the one millionth post here? If it is you you will have some kind of prize coming to you and this includes our Moderators, everyone is eligible, you just have to click the submit button at the right time
Our System Administrator Aaron Koehl will query our database to identify the winner once we have gone over the magic number.

If it is the end of the week, it will be the Weekend Doin's man! But +1 on Jim as well.

Is there a way to limit the posts posted per minute - to avoid stuffing the ballot box? I can forsee a crashed server... ?

On the blue bar at the top of every page, there is a link for "Member's List".

Click on that and then click on the Posts column to sort it.

From that, one can determine the odds of who might hit the 1M post.

Yeah, the odds are clearly in Jim B.'s favor....

I'm going to go out on a limb here and make a prediction. The one millionth poster will not be me. Thanks for the very successful site. I keep coming back because of all you prolific posters.

Apparently Jim has a lot of free time on his hands. Maybe he should take up woodworking.

My money's on Jim too. He has made about 1 in 30 of ALL the posts on the Creek so far.

I think Jim is one of those people who can do a hundred things at once and can still get them all done before schedule. I think he types with one hand on one computer, the other hand typing on a laptop, writing with left foot, and with the right foot, typing his posts here on SMC on a third computer. Have you seen the Michael Phelps commercial. They got the idea from Jim B. . My money is on Jim also. He deserves it. Bill
