    Graduation Box

here's a little box I threw together on short notice.

On tuesday last, I was invited to a graduation party for Sunday (yest)

Since I had a couple other jobs going on, I had to work fast, and still do a nice job.

I had some left over Mahogany and Bird's eye so I used those two woods. The carcass is jsut mitered, with dados for the bottom and top.
The inlay is from Rockler's, the fit was so precise, that i didn't even glue it! when I put it in for a test fit, i couldn't get it out !!! hope it stays in!

One coat of Watco, then a couple coats of DEFT spray on, then a coat of wax.

Didn't take too long, but did come out very nice. Heck, my wife even liked it more than most of the ones I spend weeks on !!

    comments and criticism are welcomed

    box

I love it and I thought I would respond! You did a great job! I love these small quick projects like this. Looks like you made the end piece that fit up to the box very precise as well. When it is closed can't even tell it is a seperate piece.

Looks better than something I would spend 2 weeks on.
    Great Job.

    Mark,

Nice job on the box. It turned out particularly nice for a "rush job." I think I'll put a box like that on my list. Looks like a fun one!

That was a very nice box. GKar would love it if there was no insides in there.
