I have the better set from HF and find them great for the money. Benjamin's best are also great for the money. They are heavy tols that will do you well. HG
I still use the old fashioned spring calipers that work great with parting tool. I hate to admit my expensive starrett digital caliper died and is still dead following lousy service from starrett....
It works. Might want one with more spring. Just try a variety at no cost. Very handy for tops. HG
I have installed one of those magnetic bars on the edge of my lathe and some benches. It's great to catch bushings from pen turning and small tools on the way down. HG
I was watching this video while you wrote and that little wedge agreed with you and what I have been trying to perfect. It would help on those videos if the portions of the tool could be separated...

I always have kind of been able to choose a speed for my bowls on my midi but yesterday I was turning small finials for a ornament and wondered at the maximum speed to run small 1" spindle between...
a lot of very respectable turners wear gloves. What's the advantage. Folks like me who have aching bones might need to listen but loose things about a lathe in my past study is not appreciated....
All of the above is great only one addition. Put a thin coat of med or thick Ca on the blank with small problems like open grain and sand it while while wet with the lathe on slow speed. . Then...
We have the task of drilling 3/4ths inch holes in plastic laminant for locks in good looking wood cabinets. What type of drill bit would be best? Thanks Harry
I usually persist on other parts of the forum but am tring to help someone beyond my knowledge. My dear friends in PA just recently took delivery of a PC hand made table to their sprecifications at...
I'm having a senior moment as Christmas toys are in view. Any suggestions for an easy way to hold toy wheels on the lathe for final shaping? i have lots of chucks of all kinds from PSI 3 jaw little...
Maybe one thing to consider is I would not buy a used plane that I knew the back of the blade was not flat. HG
