Moderators: May want to consider moving this topic to the Neanderthal forum as is contains some useful Stanley 63/64 spokeshave information. Just loose the WTB portion of the title.

Guys…thanks so much for the sage insight.
The body of the plane is in exceptional shape (probably 99% japanning intact). So I think before a go the re-tap route I am going to continue looking for...

For years (before boutique saws) the goto coping saw was an Olson. Buy some decent Pegas 18 TPI skip toothblades and that would be a good and inexpensive start. Both items can be had from Amazon for...
I have both as well, the Taylor knock-off, like Glenn says “is not bad”. May want to give it a tought.
I have always followed Rob Cosman’s approach to the craft of dovetailing for quite a number of years (from the DVD days).
As an aside, this past week I bought one of his dovetail markers with the...
Thanks guys...based on your input I was 1) able to determine that I need to search for CNC router service as opposed to engraving and 2) I was able to find local a service. Much appreciate your...
Hopefully several of you guys are familiar with Chris Becksvoort 's wonderful tool cabinet (see image). If you have seen better images than this one, you know that he has his name engraved in the...
This opinion is strictly from a hobbyist point of view. I try to keep sanding to a minimum with various planes and scrapers…but sanding is inevitable…I’m just glad I don’t have to do it daily like...
Derek,
I don't post too often but I am an avid reader of your neander posts and find them both enjoyable and informative. Your interview above is just another fine example. I find your...
First admission....I am a jig/guide guy...no free wheel'in here!...I presently use the eclipse-style honing jig ($10) for all plane and chisel sharpening and with a homemade guide for both 25 and 30...
