Can you give me all the numbers that are on the center data plate. The one that is cast on the door not the ones attached? Also on the spindle it does not look to be threaded. what type of collets...
CW or Tim what catalog are you referring too? Anyway to get a copy? Tim you say your machine has 3 data plates. What information is on the others?
Thanks
James
Ekstrom Carlson had two ways of numbering their serial numbers. Not sure when they changed the system. Your serial # would mean that it is a model #232 and it was the 241 st machine built in that...
Never used a green sander but bit the bullet and bought a Ceros last year. Was probably the best investment in tools ( and I have a lot of tools) that I have ever made. Well worth the cost.
I do miss it also but mainly I want to thank Keith for all his hard work and the other moderators that are working on problem.
Thanks for the compliments. I still need LOTS of practice with my tool handling. Had to do lots of sanding on this one. Hope to improve on tool technique so as to cut down on sanding. Hopefully...
Well after buying my "new Oliver" lathe 4 years ago and rebuilding it I finally got around to turning something besides a tool handle. Have not turned a bowl for 20 years so go easy on me. Wood is...
Do a search for Bruce Norton's design. It is for a 10hp panel and is highly recommended on several sites.
None of my Teco FM50's loose anyting when shut down. I keep a dis-connect switch before them so they dont stay powered up all the time. Settings will stay after programed. On my lathe I bought the...
Well after several years of putting off turning I finally took some time to turn. I have turned in years past but have not done any recently. Bought a nice lathe with BIG intentions but flat work...
Thaks Tom I thought there was an extension. Sounds like that may work. No to decide whether to buy one or build one.
Thanks Tom. The ourboard rest only measures 7" where the tool rest goes into? I would have thought that to be taller. Still may work would just have to make an extension for my rests. I am...
Anyone have one of these lathes? I am needing some measurements from the banjo. Is the banjo used on the lathe and the one for the outboard extension the same on the base? Looking to upgrade a...
I have cut Persimmon before on my Woodmizer. Largest log I have seen was about 20". It is very hard but not too hard to saw green. When it dries it is very hard. Yellow color with black streaks. ...
Mine does not have a transmission. Just the motor to the countershaft and then the 4 steps on it.
Dennis, yes the adapters were female to go on the lathe spindle and then male for new chuck. I have some made to 1 1/4"x8 and 1 1/2" x8. I did get a large (14") four jaw chuck with my lathe but it...
My Oliver #66 is 6 threads per inch and I had some adapters made to run some modern chucks. Sold a few of the extra ones to other folks that had Oliver 20's. Great machine and I am sure you will be...
Check those threads I bet they are 1 7/8"x 6. Most Olivers have 6 threads per inch and not 4.
Thanks I had already ordered the screws from Hunter do to the special shape. #3 and #4 use the same screw. Got thread information from Hunter. Have a couple tools made but have not used them yet. ...
Going to make a couple tools. Anyone know what the thread is on the Hunter tools?
Thanks

My local Wilsonart distributor closed up shop a year or so ago. Still have a Formica distributor close. On a couple recent jobs that spec'd Wilsonart only laminate I ordered the laminate through my...
Check out Industrial Abrasives. Pretty sure they have a website. I have used them for belts and sleeves for my spindle sander and have had good service from there products and a great price.
Sent you a pm. I am located in Hurricane WV and run a small sawmill business. Also know a few other contacts.
I got a Ceros sander about a month ago and agree what a sander! Not sure if I like the Abranet yet or not. Very fragile but I have not tried the HD version of it yet. Dust pickup is wonderful...
