Thanks everyone! Sounds like the idea of cutting several pieces out of thinner material then gluing them together (laminating) is the go to solution.
Hello all been awhile since I last posted as life has a way of always getting in the way of fun stuff. In any event I recently built a vacuum press to make pistol holsters out of plastic sheet...
This is what I did. Used a condenser off a late model Ford Explorer. I plumbed mine with a water trap below the input pipe to the tank so that no water ever makes it to the tank itself. I also have a...
i was was going to say the exact same thing that the design of the kitchen is quite timeless and could easily have been built last week. Very nice work I like it very much.
+2 I use both of those as well. The Handyman Calculator is really useful has just about any calculation you could ever need.
I have the same saw or one almost identical. I got mine for a song. The upper wheel adjuster was broken on my saw as it seems like that was very common on those saws due to the crappy metal they used...
Just a thought but can you use your drill head from the bench top press on the column for you floor standing press? Might be worth seeing if the columns are the same diameter. Then you could swap the...
That seems to be a copy of my Delta DC380 planer that is also 15". My Delta is an awesome planer and I would suspect that Grizzly would be very much the same. The price seems pretty reasonable for a...
I received an email today about a new Sketchup module called EasySketch. This is aimed at designing kitchens very easily and it looks pretty interesting. It is going to be in beta testing soon and...
You can forget the chainsaw you are going to need some serious machinery to get this job done. I would go with the recommendations to rent a big machine that handles brush clearing and it should only...
I have 2 saws both are Stihl. The smaller saw is what they cal a homeowner saw but it is a little demon 025 model with an 18" bar. I picked up a second Stihl 044 70cc saw 2 years ago used off...
I just made a picture frame miter sled for the tablesaw last weekend. It was the one that was in Fine Woodworking some time ago. It took some serious doing on my part to get it perfect but it came...
I recently bought the Makita as Home Depot was selling the older model for $300 + tax/shipping and it came with a 55" rail and carry case. I subsequently purchased another 55" rail, connectors and...
So instead of $3000 for materials you are looking at $5400~ to purchase just the wood. I am all for doing everything myself but this would even give me the chills. I hope you re-think this and make...
I bought a bunch of rolls from Golfworks a couple years ago at about $4-$5 a roll. They are pretty big rolls and the tape sticks very well. So much so that I have had problems with it delaminating...
i like the Teflon tape idea. Cheap and effective and can be redone many times quickly so you spend time working wood not tools.
I think after getting the free cast iron wing I would have left the damaged wood extension as is and not even worried about it. It wasn't enough of a chip to have made me all bent out of shape. Don't...
My opinion for what it is worth......(not much):) Is save a little more money and get the bigger dedicated planer. I have a friend who has the Dewalt 735 and it will make you deaf in nothing flat. I...
When i checked my store online they were full price but when I went into the store this evening ALL Bessey products were on clearance. I have to go back and pick up some of the clamps before they are...
I am heading by Lowes after work so I will take a look while I am there.
I have bought a boatload of used machines and refurbished them. It is a great way to save a ton of money but if I had the money I would buy something new/newer that I didn't have to spend a ton of...
I just checked my local store online and they are not on clearance as of yet?
...
I think you answered your own question. I too recently bought the Makita Tracksaw as Home Depot had the older model on sale and I have yet to be able to use it as I have not bought any sheet goods as...
I bought a keyless chuck similar to an Albrecht off Ebay and it has been excellent. Plus it didn't cost nearly as much as an Albrecht chuck. It has made using the drill press much more enjoyable.
