Agreed. I have 6” coming thru the floor and a 6” blast gate so I think I’ll just transition to a 4” metal duct and eliminate that flex hose
Thanks all. Looks like I have several options. The smartest one, though, is probably replace this flex hose with hard pipe to take the weight of the blast gate out of the equation and to remove the...
Suggestions on how to prevent this?
If we could see some pictures of what’s in this shop I think it would impact our advice
I run a business and yes it’s smaller not sure how relevant that is but I would think someone within the powermatic product management chain or customer support chain would really value monitoring...
Steve, how are you cutting your parts to get such crisp edges?
And I’m still using mine. My goal is just to get close enough to trim to final dimensions on the tablesaw
Richard…I really do appreciate your advice and actually will try a 1/4” straight bit. You mention that you use a plunge router and a fence on the router. Any reason I couldn’t just use a router table...
Thanks all. I think I’ll build a couple test frames fully assembled and then make multiple passes with a rabbet bit. My only concern with this method was when the bit got into the corner that it...
Richard and Chris….do this before assembly? if so do you stop before the corner so the bit doesn’t engage the rail and stile at the same time?
Also hard to see how you could take off this much...
I think my concern with doing this after the frames are assembled is if I use a router bit that it will catch when I hit those inside corners.
I need to cut away the inside of the rails and stiles so that I can put in a glass panel for a cabinet door. The rails are easy since the ends are not exposed but the rails need to be stopped...
Just bought it and deciding if I’m going to return it. What happens is while using it the 5/8 inch nails the nails will rotate in the carriage and I will not realize that I’m shooting blanks till I...
Anyone tried one? Seems pretty convenient

Would it be crazy to cut mortises into the bottom of the plywood and tenons at the top of sides, …? Maybe not enough depth?
I just let the FF run proud 1/8 or so on the exposed end and then usually 1/4 on the side that needs to be scribed along a wall
Nice. Could you post a picture of the two pieces before assembly?
For me it’s far easier to cut a rabbet on the shelf (slightly undersized) and a dado on the side. That way the fir does not have to be exact
I thought I wanted to do the same thing and in fact wired in a switch and contacter so the I could just flip a switch and open up venting one way or the other. The exhaust was like 8-10” pipe. I was...
Yes great place to visit if you ever have a chance. I always try and find local woodworking shops when I travel but didn’t find or visit any one this trip. BTW we spent most of our time in Marrakech.
Also don’t you normally want to keep concrete moist for a while?
May not help but here’s a couple pictures
Had the chance to hike in the High Atlas Mountains today and the guide said all the trees around us were walnut trees. Anyone know how they compare to our Black Walnuts?
