8/4 is great, on average, those boards end up, depending on length of course, just below 3/4 thick. i just started skating last november, so i don't do this for others....but i would if somebody...
if you are talking about the one with zebra wood, no that's a Surf rodz design, I am going to make a few extra decks to fit the metal parts though.
it's just bamboo cross core
sure do, it's installed in my living room
if ya need help I'm sure we can find time
I designed the shapes in Illustrator and cut them out with my 24" plotter

I stuck them to a sheet of mdf and cut them out, redefined the shapes...
nah, the other ones are not, but the zebra wood needs a little support and might get a layer of 6oz glass on top and maybe a copper panel with patina on the bottom.
we'll see
of course i do, I love my cigars. I just got back from riding along the beach, had my cigar and picked up some Starbucks and went back home.
A great day
good to see you too Richard, how are the...
not worried a bit.....Festool domine:D
thanx guys
ok, had some shop time and wanted to try some solid wood boards.
here we go, all boards are book matched wood and drumsanded until I had perfect flex in the boards at my 175 pounds, they are nice...
I have a Stubby 1000 and never looked back. Footprint and versatility were the deciding factors but I also almost choked when I found out the price.
the PM, Oneway, Robust and such are all great...
the whole point of this drive center is not just it's size. Yes of course it does help if you put a 50-100 pound hunk of a bowl blank on the lathe, I need it to stay in place without slipping, but...
I got mine for my Stubby 1000 when Bill started making them and it is just an amazing product. the size of it hold just about anything in place and it threads on and off easily.
enjoy, I know I do
I have the whole set and love them, the cut amazing and it's pretty much my goto tool, freehand or in a captured rig. I also use them in Randy's articulated arm, just great and they also have a...
haven't noticed 'cause I haven't cared about glasers since Jerry retired.
time to move on, isn't it?
I have Glaser and Thompson and truly love both. but if I had to pick today I'd go thompson, though I do like the glaser handles, I like the Monster handles on my Thompson gouges, they feel great,...
you will love the monster,
I also was very torn about coring, but what I loved about the Kelton was the setup has a bit of a freehand kind of vibe, one blade and you kinda eyeball it.
I knew it...
I have a similar tool, not my cup of tea but great for cone shapes,
but the Kelton is amazing
I have the Kelton coring system, it has a bit of a learning curve like everything but most people just don't trust the system, it's so easy.
then for hollowing I have the Monster articulated arm and...
the PL is the only one I use. I have never really been a big fan of wheel buffing, usually I rub pieces out by hand, the white diamond is not my favorite, wax is fin, I usually use tripoli and wax,...
a stick, little softer than the others, but also a bar-like thingy
I actually don't know but I guess it should be fine, just drop Don an email, but I actually ordered 5 PL compounds, hehe, simply cause I didn't know if it was a bar or a paste and the price is great....
well, picture all the tiny imperfections gone.........just gone
I also buffed a piece I lacquered 3 years ago and never rubbed out and it got improved so much, I can't even believe it, but most of all, you really can't overload the wheel, that alone makes me happy
I don't think it would shop up different, but it's just smoother to the touch, or silkier i guess, but taking pics of a shiny object is not gonna get any better:D
I received my shipment today, I bought a few PL compounds and Wheel for lacquer/plastic and all I can say is WOW..........let me repeat this.....WOW. I buffed the pieces I posted a while ago and I...
