I dunno. I've bought two vinyl cutters, a dye sub printer and my laser through them. Aside from a Z-motor replacement (which was handled very professionally and promptly), I've had no problems with...
I've done larger signs like that.
Here's the easiest method I found:
Apply roll vinyl to substrate (lightly).
Load into laser through pass-through doors.
Kiss-cut the lettering (takes...
Yeah... but once you're burnt a few times by PayPal... you'll embrace a "real" merchant account. I've had ZERO charge backs through authorize.net, and lost scads through paypal and ebay.
I swear...
Yeah.. It's a pain navigating to the place to order blanks there.
Try going directly to the blanks page HERE:
I think the best price break is at around 200. I originally ordered 500 that...
I use Authorize.Net as my gateway and e-online for my merchant account. Setup is pretty straightforward and like said earlier it comes out to $35 or so a month. I just chalk it up to a couple extra...
I got 200 samples in the mail yesterday. Probably paid too much for them (50 cents each), but they are fun to play with.
They engrave nicely and after a quick clean up in soap and water look...
Me too... it gets your heartbeat up the first time you test run something and realize you forgot to remove the magnets and the door is open. :)
The "Frosted" acrylic is much more opaque than the matte finish. Either sounds like it would well for defusing light in your project.
Ask for P95 acylic. It's matte finish on one side.
You say you "etched" 1/2 inch stripes. I only will kiss cut and then weed by hand.
I find it really handy for doing detail vinyl on smallish items. Easier than applying it in some cases. The...
I've kiss-cut vinyl film many times... no real smoke at all and I doubt is enough to cause any concern at all.
I have a vinyl cutter as well, or I'd likely do more.
I do boat dashes and have had great luck laminating .030" burl wood onto a backer substrate and then engraving. I've also engraved the thin acrylic and then vacuum pressed it onto compound curved...
Very nice... even better if I could afford one. :)
What's the ballpark price on a system of that quality?

I just bought a pickup truck load of Corian scraps. Most are 12" x 6" or so.
If anyone's interested in any, lemme know. Lots of dusk, sandstone, granite, sun and glacier ice. All sizes from...
It's had to catch those colorful frogs this time of year... :D
This may sound counter-intuitive, but the slipping Z-axis is actually caused by the belt being TOO tight. It needs to be sloppy loose.
Kevin Huffman quickly shipped me a replacement Z-Axis...
Also consider what you're willing to work for, keep the power on, a roof over the laser's head, etc when setting a per/minute rate. I either charge $2/min or $65/hour and a lesser per minute charge....
Well... for what it's worth, I've had absolutely wonderful experiences with Sign Warehouse. I've bought a vinyl cutter, laser, dye sub printer, two heat presses and tons of vinyl and other supplies....
On expensive pieces I always lay a piece of blue masking tape on the area I'm gonna lase. Then I run it once with the door open to see that the centering is OK... and then 2nd time at low power and...
Which touch screen panel are you using?
If you ever get to use the RealGold products, they're awesome. 15 year warranty and it's a blast to see the final results.
I'd dip them in thinned polyurethane and let them hang until dry.
I cut a lot of dinky little parts... a pin table is much easier than a honeycomb style to find the little bits later... :)
