If you're relegated to using a brush, is it imperative that you use lacquer? There are many more durable finishes out there that have an "open time" conducive to brushing. Lacquer is not one of...
Tape off the surface you don’t want finish.
Most durable clear coat out there is going to be a post catalyzed 2k Poly. Many manufacturers make a version. I believe some are even releasing a WB version.
We sand all ply with 180g. I turn the speed of the Festool 150/5 to 3.
This thread is spurned from many posts I've read and an experience I had yesterday.
I hope this thread is one that anyone can turn to for a little information on thinning (or not) their material. ...
After every cleaning, I set my needle to max flow and my air nozzle to max pattern. I always start there and adjust down instead of adjust up. Maybe it's because my gun is designed for automotive...
John, maybe it's just my gravity gun. It does not like WB or latex without considerable thinning even with a 2.2 tip. I don't mind thinning material - but since I shoot mainly solvent based...
You can't spray BIN through a gravity HVLP without thinning unless you remove the filter. The shellac will clog the filter in short time.
You can't shoot any WB product through a 2.2 tip...
I have slight scores. Never been a problem with taking it straight to glue-up.
I've used a Grizzly 3 wheel for years and no problems. It's pretty much designated to a shaper for running door frame stock and panels.
So the podcast I listened to last week, with Jack as guest stated he’s built over 800 VFDs for people was a dream?
I used to spray BM ADVANCE but can't wait 30 days for it to cure, nor 16 hours to recoat (and that's if the temp is 70F).
ML Campbell's CV is the same price point, but maybe a bit more at first...
I sprayed black paint today. It's Stealth conversion varnish from ML Campbell. Thinned 10% flow enhancer #1 and 10% lacquer thinner. Sprayed with 2.2mm tip (equal to a #5) through a FLG4 gravity...
Shipping LTL is all about how it's coded and insured. I get 500# palletized crates of doors from Wisconsin to Arkansas for $2-300. I shipped a custom vent hood to Alabama that was 220#, palletized...
You need to send Jack Forsberg a PM. He'll custom build you a VFD and walk you through setting it up.
If you've read any of my posts on miter saws you'll know I'm highly biased towards Dewalt. Set them up once and they stay there. My 780XPS gets used everyday. I've had it for 7 years. I can cut...
Most durable non-yellowing finish you put on a table is 2k poly. ML Campbell's version is Polarion. It's 2 part, mixes 5:1. You'll pay about $75 gal after getting catalyst.
BOURBON10 from @bourbonmoth Instagram gets you 10%
I have 400amp 208Y in my shop. I wired everything with 3/4 EMT and THHN. I had never bent a piece of conduit in my life. I had maybe 3 sticks of conduit that I royally screwed up. That price was...
Law of diminishing returns. It will become "tipsy". A broom is a cheaper option.
I'm assembling a houseful of cabinets all week so I haven't go to use it extensively, but I'm hoping it will make breaking down sheets on the TS much easier - like a quasi-slider-apparatus. Even tho...
The base is 25x30 cut as a polygonal hexagon (4 equal and 2 equal sides). Casters are inset 1" off of each point. Vertical supports are 11.5 x 14.5 and the top is an 8" diameter circle. I haven't...
Easily. I just built one and it's amazing. You'll be handling the door with care while on the dolly and most likely the dolly won't be holding 100% of the weight because you have to balance it.

I agree 100%. But the price is worth the try IMO.
