I’m with you Doug. Wow indeed!
I only had a bandsaw for about a dozen years before I got a table saw. It was not a great bandsaw. I made it work but I wished I had got a TS sooner. Now I have a both a better 18” BS and a SawStop 3...
Hi Carroll,
I have a M18 Reciprocating saw and used it this summer during the remodel of our house. My contractor used the same model but his partner was a Dewalt guy. Both brands were used...
I think the change to the shelf will be better. I was concerned it could add some resonances as a flat panel although not so much with stuff on it. Ear height while seated is the normal placement for...
Hi Kris,
I had a set of Large Advent speakers years ago which I still miss. Like Lisa, I now have a larger pair of PSB (T2) speakers in our living room. No TV.
Congratulations on your new...
Hi Warren,
I just read a very good gardening book called “The Year-Round Vegetable Gardener” by Niki Jabbour. She’s a Canadian writer so has dealt with actual winter. We borrowed a copy from the...
Congratulations Jason. That is a real beauty. I have a cheap 2lb “lump” hammer that I keep in my shop. It’s a great tool for whacking a holdfast or moving stuff that doesn’t want to move. I just use...
I’ve had pretty good luck with Princess Auto “Haystack” tarps when covering my boat. They often last a few years in a tough environment. I’d definitely avoid bungee cords as they allow things to...
I have Tidal. I upgraded from Spotify a couple years ago and prefer the sound quality. I did not particularly enjoy the user interface with Tidal but accepted that as a compromise. Last year I...
That’s very cool. The workmanship looks very good and the mechanism adds a lot of interest.
Congratulations on your anniversary!
I use half-blind dovetails and lay them out so that the groove in the inside face is covered by the tails on the sides. No visible grooves, no visible dovetail when the drawer is closed. Pretty...
It looks good! I really like the rounded dovetails. Your new shop looks nice too.
Thanks! It’s a beautiful day here today. I expect we’ll be able to see some fireworks from the yard later this evening.
So sorry for your loss Paul. She looks like she had a very happy life.
Hi Justin,
Those are beautiful! What a great idea. Makes beer even better.
I always enjoy when you post a project.
Cheers,
David
I have an 18BX and also passed on the $200 Laguna light. Right now I use a $29 rechargeable LED light with a magnetic base. It works ok for my needs.
Hi Jim,
It took me a second… ha! The dogs are happiest in their rectangular holes. The holdfasts like the round ones.
Cheers,
David
That’s exercise!
I used the thin stock on a angled face method for holding up my dogs. It works well.

I don’t have a sander so I don’t have direct experience but I’d try putting a couple strips of masking tape on the veneer and the backer board and then gluing the masking tapes together back to back...
Congratulations! It’s a nice looking tool and looks like a worthy addition to your fleet.
Did you try it out yet?
I have a 18BX that runs smoothly. Are you on a mobile base or fixed? Have you checked that the feet are all in contact with the floor properly and it’s level? What kind of floor? Did you try another...
Congratulations on the new saw. No tips on assembly but my 18BX went together smoothly. I recently bought a LED rechargeable light with a magnetic base for my bandsaw and it works well. It sits under...
That’s a very nice offer! Kudos to you.
Nice set up! I have a much simpler sharpening station and got some good ideas for some upgrades. I really like the 5 gal. bucket as I don’t have a sink near my shop. I keep my stones on a car floor...
Hi Anuj,
I have a CWI 2hp with short cyclone. Pretty generic. I connect like you do and it works pretty well. Very little dust and a vast improvement to my shop. I plan to add a ceiling mount air...
