An other option to remove some set is to put the teeth line in a vise and close the vise on the teeth, even close completely, as you release the vise, the teeth should spring back some and give you...
I guess you deserved it... The "YOU SUCK"....
IMO, keep the BU Jack, it is a great plane for shooting board, for planing end grain(even if I use my LA block for that!!) and it would work good anought to smooth triky grain! Keep the cuting edge...
Jeremy, I think you will be a busy man... Just my guess!!
C'mon George, just push that stuff of the edge and take a few pics... ;)
Good work on the bench and of cours on the project, I'm sur she'll forgive you... For now!!
Hi Marv, I didn't mantion Andrew, just cause I thought it would start a long debate on saw $$... I was in line for on of his saw, and the guy is a thrue gentleman and a great person to exchange...
In my opinion, the best one I have are the Bad Axe saws, and I have LN, Medallion, Wenzloff, Adria, Gramercy and some vintage ones... That said other than the LN, all the other are great saws...
I use to have a set, but replaced them with a fish tail chisel, I found the fish tail more usefull!
I actually saw an attendee at a Lie-Nielsen hand tool event in Chicago drive one of these chisels completely thru a 3/4" piece of walnut with no damage to the stabilized wood handle.
Ron...
I,m a fan of Mark saws at Bad Axe, they are the best saws I've used... I have some LN, Adria(realy good saws, but don,t make a large Tenon saw...), Wenzloff and Medallion. The latest is a realy good...
Great work! That is a great looking vice! The bench look realy good to!! I think BLO is a good choice.
Nice looking plane Leigh... And I'm sur it work great! Do you have picture of the process of making the DT sole to body? It would be great to see how you did it!
Again great job!
Nice looking set of chisels! good for you. They look similar to my Blue Spruce... on the picture any way:)
Let us know how you like them!
The same here, nothing faster than a draw knife and finished with jointer and smoother!!
Count me in for sure!
Tahnk you!
A nice saw for a buck fifty!!
Sam, realy nice handle, look realy confortable. Did you make the entire saw?
Look good, to bad we can't make the pics larger... I like making my own tools as well!
Look like you used a old plane iron.
Cheers
As a fan of Krenovien style furniture, this is a nice peice! nice looking wood and lines! As others said, the pulls are not my favorits... and on your next one try the carved latche to keep the doors...
Buy it, pack it, send it, I will use it all!! As a hand tools only woodworker, I like the wooden body planes a lot... Frame saws, they have there time im my shop. and carving tools, don't have any...
Realy like it. Nice work indeed and i like the mat finish also!
Joe, that is a nice saw!
I have to agree with Rob L., I have the appron plane and the LA block and the appron is indeed my favorit of the two! And never had any problem what so ever with long grain planning!
