What about using cherry wood pegs?
Maybe I'm reading that wrong...but the price seems a bit high for what seems to be coming out of China of late that power range. I could be wrong.
Some my work lately... tiny little stuff in this case cannon carriages. 26 of them and no way I could ever do these by hand.
You guys are way out of my league. Here's latest I've done... cannon carriages for a model wooden ship I'm scratchbuilding.
This reminded me of what my dad always said: The value of manual labor is that you won't want to do manual labor the rest of your life. He also had quotes about finding a career you love instead of...
If you use the bucket method, use distilled water but instead of adding ice for cooling, get a couple of plastic milk cartons, juice cartons, or the like with the cap. Freeze them and you won't...
Rabbit Laser is clean here... using Trend Micro and also Voodoo Shield. Most of us in IT haven't trusted Norton for quite awhile. I'm guessing it's a false positive hit.
I don't do commercial work but in the past I did (wasn't laser work). I always quoted three things.... price, delivery date, and the drop dead date for the time for delivery of any materials, plans,...
Mike,
Call your local disposal company. Ours takes TV tubes (color) for a fee, BW at no fee, and laser tubes at no fee. It may be that your disposal company might charge to take it.
Maybe some small business cards with a bit of artwork and your details. I saw some at a local "craft" fair recently.
Since it's Sunday, the tech sites are on skeleton crews but there were a few reports of one of the backbone DNS servers having a problem. Probably won't know for certain until tomorrow.
I'm gathering there's some confusion here from news stories... some call it a laser 3D printer, others a 3D printer. If it's a laser, it should be vented to the outside. I do know of one person...
I just want to say thanks for the help and input on this problem. I've solved it by tightening and checking every nut and bolt and re-aligning and adjusting. It was a learning experience but...
I've been listening to the sage advice here and reading other related topics. What struck me was Dave's comment about "level" on the machine itself. I have the laser on a Skill folding work...
Kev,
The first picture was an overhead shot as straight down as I could get it. The mirror was removed to see the burn spot which is at the 2 o'clock position in the tube.
Bert,
I know deep...
I do believe I found the problem... the #3 mirror appears to be delaminating. I've ordered a new one. I realized that my results were inconsistent and was struggling to lock down and remove any...
Not sank into the water.. into the foam mounts. I had checked the alignment when I put in the new tube and then had to wait almost a week to do any testing as I was waiting for the chiller. I got...
Pics are here. What I've discovered so far is that the tube sank into it's mounts due to the water. There's foam padding. So that's partly fixed it. Everything (beam wise) is where it should be...
I'm starting again at the beginning of the mirror alignment. This is most puzzling is why everything lined up and looks good until I get to the final mirror.
I tried shimming the mirror and got...
Facepalm moment... photo added.
I'm attaching a photo for this. I changed the tube and checked the alignment at mirrors 1 and 2. I put a bit paper in front of the mirror/lens head and checked that. All were dead center at both...
I did when I did the upgrade from the "40W" that came with it to the 45W that blew. Had to as I'm not about to have a bare tube hanging out in the breeze.
I only use this thing a couple times a month at this time, but that's probably going to change early next year when I start doing custom cutting for people in the hobby I use it for. Fiddling with...
The damage has been repaired. The water pump failed (murphy strikes), the tube naturally failed with cracks and leaks at both ends. The water ran down the HV lead from the tube to the power supply...
I've thought about that Bert. Maybe after tax refund time as I'm getting hit hard with house issues.. roof, tree problems, etc. Even the garage door decided to give me grief in the pocket book. ...
