I hate to say it, but the USPS would just mangle that thing, stuffing it into my mailbox, anyway.
Shame, huh ?

I presume you haven't received it, yet, but ... is there a sign-up sheet for borrowing it ??
;)
Thanks !
Good link.
Thanks, Tom !
Guess I want to chime in here, and ask for a little SawBlade 101 info:
My understanding is that there are two basic reasons to go TK:
1) Easier spin/cutting, where HP or torque are in short...
Take your pick.
It should just slide in rather easily. Ply isn't going to move/expand much.
I wouldn't over-think it. Just leave yourself a bit of a gap -- whatever "a bit" means to you :)
YOUR money ? Grex or Cadex.
MY money: meh. My HF works pretty darned well ;)
Do you already have the planer/jointer, or ... is that coming on Father's Day ? ;)
Congrats ! Very nice gift !!
Ayup. I do it, too.
The horizontal one presses the stock against the bit.
The vertical one(s) are before and after the bit.
[cough]you suck[cough, cough, cough]
IMHO, you need both the regular instruction/owners' manual AND this one.
It's well worth the time to look through them both....
Good jig. Enjoy it !
Then ... you're welcome.
Nobody else seemed willing to take the ... uh ... plunge ;)
This poll is useless.
ALL polls are useless.
I think.
Maybe I should start a poll, asking about the utility OF polls.
I think.
I consider an offcut to be useless, when and if I've thrown it away.
To date, I don't remember that ever happening, though ;)
I'd say that's most of it.
When they go to a commercial address, it's presumed that they'll drop MORE packages in FEWER stops, over a SHORTER distance.
Whereas .... YOU only bought ONE saw :)
If that last post was to me ... I would have done what you did.
I'm not really looking to mill my CI top flat, on my new $3,000 table saw, but ... that's just me.
a) Congrats on your new ICS. Beautiful.
b) Everybody has his/her own threshold for manufacturers' defects on arrival. I don't begrudge ANYBODY who wants a near-perfect machine, for their...
Only slightly OT .....
I'm with you. Four or five piece Ryobi cordless set ... maybe five batteries. They're ALL always dead when I need them.
Should be a battery replacement gizmo, sold,...
Mine goes into a switched power strip. I flip that switch.
And .... I turn ON and OFF the TS ... just to verify.
Fear of Shipping (I'm a former logistics guy....) was partly why I ordered two shorter rails, and a connector.
I haven't used my DeWalt, yet. I hate when life gets in the way of having fun :)
...
In which case, you leave it hanging there ... as a reminder to OTHER powered hand tools ... of the fate that awaits them should THEIR cords get kinked ;)
If I got really bored, and were facing this issue ... I MIGHT consider hanging the tool from the plug end of the cord .... very gently ... and leaving it there for a few days.
The weight would be...
You're right, Ken, and ... it's been so long since I looked at this design that I HAD forgotten about that.
So ....
You have to hope you don't have momentum (falling toward the blade), because...
Of COURSE, the real issue is what the writer meant, and what the reader thought, but ... no ... it is NOT an inherently derogatory term, IMHO:
caˇgey also caˇgy ...
Awww.
I didn't get a chance to harangue Van about the "worthlessness" of HIS poll ??
I'm hurt :D
I remember reading that ... Mao Tse-Tung is buried in one of those ....
Hm.
