Wow after reading the glowing post on the Leigh D4 i'm almost afraid to ask this but....at over $400 vs a barely used 4212 at $100, what are the thoughts on the 4212? Found one local very lightly...

This is what I do too.
The paper and school glue trick is the one I used. Again learned in HS first woodshop class 40 years or so ago. Still works well.
I have a Ryobi BT3000 I got on craigslist about 9 years ago for a couple hundred. Used it for several years after a divorce when I didn't have a shop with 220v for my cabinet saw. Very credible...
They are available on Amazon but $47/fixture :( There is a replacement that I saw in the $40 range that has a motion detector built in. Still not a great option.
