That's some nice lookin' wood. I would stack-n-sticker it after resawing to let it acclimate to the shop. That should would make a nice looking veneer. And the bandsaw is nice as well, I'm looking...
Have you looked into Verizon FiOS? If its available in your area its definitely a competitor to cable. I hope you have better service with Comcast than I have.
Please count me in!
Thanks Shiraz!
What about Teak or Nutmeg? both are brown woods and depending on your staining method could blend quite nicely, IMO.
Nicely done, Mike. I must admit that intarsia is new to me but I am quickly becoming a fan.
You could use an patterned inlay. A dark wood that accents Mahogany..hmmm... brass looks good on mahogany. Will need to think about it more for wood choices.
Wow... very WOW... its exactly how I envision my shop one day. Very rustic and fitting for the surroundings. I will wholeheartedly second that its very inspiring.
Welcome to the Creek!
Awesome prize, I was just thinking about getting a pump.
Count me in!
I was going to recommend Coppermine but you said you already tried it.
zenPhoto would be my second recommendation.
If I may ask and feel free to PM me if you feel it doesn't relate to this...
Hopefully I'll be getting around to cleaning out the gara... I mean workshop. ;) Building overhead loft above the garage doors to store some "in the way" christmas decorations. Sure wish I had an...
Opting in, and its such a fashionable apron at that. Good Luck everyone!
Was this a commissioned piece? How did you sell it otherwise? Ad, flea market? I have often wondered how to sell pieces that may not have been commissioned or if a commission bails.
You should have no issues passing files back and forth.
If you use the same version of Office or the like on vista then you'll definitely have no issues.
If you happen to update to Office...
Why not try to convince your wife to let you dye the wood to the color of her choosing so at least the underlaying wood can show through?
Just a thought.
Just eye ballin' it... scored 6.52
About 2 standard deviations below the average. Guess I'd better keep practicing.

I used to live in Plano Texas and have family in Rockwall. I can ask them for you. In fact I want to say that there is a small local paper, but I'm sure most residents in Rockwall subscribe to the...
Great work, Dennis.
The figuring on the black walnut is amazing. I particularly like the legs, red oak sandwiched between the walnut. Nice finish too.
That table will have a lot of history...

woodfinder.com is a good starting point. I believe there are a couple of lumber supplies a little closer to you than Exotics. You can always order phenolics and bb ply from woodcraft or other...
Jason,
Its probably not as cold here as it is in Boston but yeah.. I'm countin' the days. I have a garage shop that I have yet to convert fully into an all season (as much as possible) shop so...
I've heard the same about MDF on the jointer (or planer for that matter)
Typically the faces of MDF should be pretty straight, so if you are wanting to joint the edges, I would run through the...
+1 on the painter's pyramids.
I bought a few from the local woodcraft to try out. After using them to finish a project I was working on, I went back and bought a few more. They are great for...
I saw a pretty good design for a down draft table in one of my magazines. I'll have a look through them and see if I can't find the issue.
