I probably used BLO, and it is in a shaded, humid area.
I think the power washing and oil got it back to silver minus the mold and looking pretty good but not like the original photo.
John's...
Thanks for posting that, Warren. I am glad I had time today to watch the entire thing.
519393 New with some kind of oil.
519394 Now, five years later.
You can power wash and put on more oil and it looks good again for a while.
If you twist and the alternating magnets repel each other, maybe that makes it easier to disconnect. I don’t find it problematic at all.
Is it like that on both sides or just the side shown in the picture?
I think a Seneca domiplate would eliminate that issue (at least for 1/2” and 3/4” material) for what you described in the other...
I also use Magports, and they work great.
Hopefully that was just a double “hot dog” dare.
I have that same LVLP gun that I have used only a few times. Worked great with transtint/water and Sealcoat. I bought some Target Coatings EM-8000 and am going to try it on the next project.

This is not going to help much, but maybe some reference to help you save some Transtint samples if you go that route.

The table top on the bottom is 1/2 vintage maple, 1/2 medium brown,...
I also follow and learn from your posts but don't often have anything helpful to add.
The chair seats do have clean and nice looking lines and curves.
Keep the posts coming, and good luck...
I like the catoyance.
I wish you would start a YouTube channel for the slider.
Congrats on the shop! Please post photos.
I used West System g-flex epoxy for mortise and tenons on an outdoor table teak table in 2017. It sits in direct sun and gets rained on frequently and has held up fine.
I used System Three T-88...
What thickness are the walnut veneers?
John, those recommendations are very helpful.
Tom, I have not yet been successful spraying but am going to give it another try. Hopefully will have less user error on this attempt.
I am getting ready to finish a farm table with turned legs. The top and aprons are soft maple, and the legs are (unfortunately) rubberwood.
For the top, I was planning to spray normal strength (1...
I am going to start a new thread on a similar topic relating to a maple table and did not want to hijack your thread.
Having struggled with this last year, I do have a couple of comments.
I...
I watched the video that Lee mentioned, followed the steps and have no drift.
The likely width of the 8’ dining table probably rules out the miter saw and the MFT for that project at least, unless you are gluing up portions and finishing with hand tools. If you go with a...
Mark, I do get your point. However, some of us have no formal training in woodworking and read books and articles and watch YT to learn a hobby we enjoy (which is not ideal). For us, there are...
I started with a track saw and MFT, then added a band saw and jointer/planer. Then switched to mostly hand tools for a number of years and recently bought a Kapex and table saw. The track saw, MFT...
I subscribed to his Patreon channel last month. Nice work, and helpful to see how he uses the slider and that arbortech grinder.
Really nice work. Looking forward to seeing it finished.
