I use WATERLOX, thinned about 2:1 NAPHTHA to FINISH, and wipe it on. You can do several coats in a day and stop when you reach the result you are looking for.

I have several of the Clearvue ones that are about 20 years old ... they are all cracking & coming apart.
This is a sale for 6 lenses, but they are cheap ...
...
The guy in this video shows a technique that is, in many instances faster, simpler, and just as accurate ...
Watch it at the 32 minute mark ...

Watch Craig Sommerfeld's video on making kitchen cabinets ... very strong, and quite simple.
There is no such thing as blade drift ... it is a sign that the saw is not properly setup/aligned.
Best I've ever seen.
I still remember the Atlanta show being held in a livestock arena in the south end of the city back in the early 80's ... GREAT shows .. $2.00 admission .. it took 2 days to see the whole thing. ...
See if you can locate some Titanium Dioxide to incorporate somewhere in that finishing schedule. It is about the whitest material I can think of. I retired from a confectionery factory where it...
I have the ClearVue ... mounted it in the peak of my attic, and made a large "baghouse", also in the attic to hold my filters. Baghouse discharges back into the shop through a grate-covered hole in...
Try putting down a small piece of painter's tape where you will be drilling the hole. Fill the hole if you really have to use filler ... let it dry ... remove the tape ... dye/stain. Your picture...
Do you know anyone who handloads ammunition ??? They(we) like to use those motors to convert into wet tumbling systems to clean used brass.
A power feeder takes all the anxiety out of it.
Something that has worked very well for me ... drill/countersink/tap 3 or 4 1/4"-20 holes in the edge of the bar. Insert brass flat head screws in the holes. A drop of blue LocTite on the...
To fill or not is purely a personal preference, depending on the look you are trying to achieve. When I have filled, I simply used drywall compound ... the type that must be mixed with water just...
I tend to thin my finish a LOT with VM&P NAPTHA ... then, I wet the surface with the finish, and keep it wet until any dry places that are absorbing finish rapidly go away. I feel this partially...

UHMW is very sensitive to heat expansion ... once it moves ... the glue lets go ... there is no real "bonding" anything to UHMW ... mechanical fastening, allowing for thermal expansion has been the...
I had a batch of something called "ED'S RED" mixed up ... it's a gun-cleaning formula that is basically equal parts of MINERAL SPIRITS + ACETONE + KEROSENE + ATF. Worked great at cleaning guns &...
Some arbors have a machined inner washer ... some are pressed on. If yours is pressed, it might have shifted.
PROPANE is heavier than air
I too ran a giant loop of copper completely around the perimeter of my shop. It is a few feet in from the stud cavities, so I can get to it if/when necessary. The entire loop is gently sloped...
I've had good results using Charles Neil's Blotch Control.
The Blotch Control will slightly subdue the dye's ability to bring out the grain ... but, it will also prevent blotching ... it's a compromise.
At VERY low speeds, I guess it would be possible to check a machine while it's running ... anything above a crawl, and I wouldn't subject even a cheap gauge to that kind of mistreatment. Sounds...
