The knives have sold.
American National Knife set of four 20"x1"x1/8" knives for a Powermatic 209 Planer. Brand new, I sold my planer to someone who was installing a Byrd head and didn't want the new knife set. $115...
Beautiful carving! Too bad they didn't do stopped flutes, something like this, which would have been a much nicer complement to your exquisite work than those obviously machine made ones. Nice work...
I've always cherished the first scratch on a new car, a fresh project, a new purchase, then you can get down to really using whatever it is instead of babying it.
I've been trying to get my just turned 13 year old daughter interested in what can be done with wood, and we both love your quilted maple platter! Nice work!
Yup, good time to engage the grandkids.............258596258597
I have a Cadex that shoots 1/2"-1 3/8", never wished for anything more.
Thanks everyone, this has been very informative!
Thanks Roy, What a wealth of information. This forum is such a wonderful resource!
Table saw works as has been said. Tin snips also, but you can easily cause an unintended crack. I prefer laminate shears, like tin snips with a double jaw on one side so they nibble out an 1/8"...
Thanks Stephen,
I was mostly thinking cabinet doors for starters, but it's always hard to know what you'll possibly use a machine for until you've got a body of experience using it. That's why...
Thanks for the input folks! If the Powermatic 90 has a 3PH motor, can't I incorporate a VFD into the set up for phase conversion even with the reeves drive? I have a pretty good grasp of single...
Thanks again Jeff,
The shaper is a 2 1/2 hour drive away and has no tooling. The sliding table (and liking my Mini Max 20" band saw) is what interested me, but I think $1000 is a more reasonable...
Thanks Jeff, I guess it would help if I had included that info from the listing. It's listed for $1500, which seems high from looking around the internet. I was hoping someone might know if it was...
Does anyone have opinions on this shaper, and if they are favorable ones what might be a fair price to pay for it? Many thanks, Daniel

Thanks for the replies thus far! I've gotten a little more info: It's apparently single phase, currently wired 110, and has the 4 speed pulley. I also inquired about the PM 90 that is in the...
I'm a relative newcomer here, thrilled to have found such a wonderful forum. I'm looking for a new woodworking avenue to spend massive amounts of money that I don't have, and have become obsessed...
It weighs in the vicinity of 600#. You don't want to pick it up, that's what wheels and rollers are for. If it's a good deal and you want it badly enough you should be able to figure out how to...
