Thank you for the answers. Just to clarify, the overall depth of the box will be 30" and the above cabinet will only be 20" deep. The cab will be screwed into the sides and will be sitting on cleats.
When building a fridge box/enclosure cabinet is MDF a good choice for the side panels that need to be flat and is it strong enough to hold a cabinet above the fridge? The box will be 94" tall, 38 1/2...
What moulding did you use at the top? My daughter wants crown moulding.
Building new cabs for my daughter's kitchen and not sure which is correct choice. These will be painted. There will be two 31" w base cabs of drawers, with 12" uppers above, and a 25" deep floor to...
This would be my choice. L shaped with a nice rounded edge. Easy to install, easy to replace and strong.
I don't have any plans but this is a king bed I made for my daughter and hubby. It's two long sections joined in the middle and plywood screws down across the top. It's very sturdy and dismantles for...
Thanks John and Tom for the info. And yes the Fuji does have a pressurized tank.
Any update on the durability of Emerald Trim Enamel John? I'm refacing my kitchen cabinets and will be spraying them white. Would a Fuji MM5 be able to spray thinned Emerald Trim Enamel?
I'm sold on Water Born finishes! Love the drying time compared to oil base. Easily 3 coats in a day. I did some samples with EM2000 only and found it was kind of bland and just brown. Next was...
Thanks for all your info. I managed to find Sealcoat in town at HD and the EM2000 will be here Thursday from Wood Essence. Looking forward to experimenting.
Thanks Andrew
Thanks Jim. I've been following your high praise of EM8000 but I can't find a Canadian distributor and our borders are closed to travel. Will the EM2000 give a nice amber look like oil base?
Thanks for all the info. I got sidetracked with more research. I found 2 that might be usable. One is Emtech 2000wvx and the other is GF EnduroVar Urethane Varnish. They both have a amber tint so I...
Can it be done? I'm new to the WB finish world and in need of some education.
I'm building a Cherry hall\sofa style table that will hold plants in front of a window that gets sun. I would like to...
I stand corrected. My thermostat is in Fahrenheit not Celsius.
Definitely insulate now. Insulation works to keep the heat in but also helps to keep heat out. I've seen my shop can be as much as 6* C difference inside to outside in the summer.
Great song from a great musician!:D
I have a similar size shop. I would do a 360` on the TS so the feed end is facing the garage door and a 180` on the out feed table. I also would move the DC closer to the machines that need it and...
Check your local glass shop for glazing tape. They should carry a variety of thicknesses and widths and maybe colours. A recent project with glass panel doors I used 1/16th thick foam tape. Worked...
I like using 1/2" BB and this method http://www.thisiscarpentry.com/2014/09/19/the-quarter-quarter-quarter-drawer-system/ Then finish with shellac. Fast, simple and never had a problem.
A brass wire wheel that you stick in the end of a drill works good
I was helping a friend build and install some kitchen cabinets for a customer. This is how he builds his bases so I thought I'd pass it along. Makes for very easy levelling and you can screw a...
Another benefit of adding the bottom later is that you can square up the drawer if it's a hair out of square. I use #6x1" screws to fasten.
Stand them on edge and run them through the planer
