I have the Grizzly air filter hanging from my shop ceiling. It works very well. I have had it since 2008. Once a year I take out the large bag filter and wash it. I helped a friend hang one of...
I have this post here but I am not able to view the photo I attached. What must I do to be allowed to view photos?
Thank you for the kind comments:
I just cut the corners at 45 degrees and glue together. Top and bottom are simply butt joints, just glued.
This sounds like the cause of my problem. Thanks for the input. I am using eastern red cedar but have also had this issue when using oak.
Thanks for this info. I have avoided lacquer because these are coasters and Laquer will not hold up to the water invloved when a glass condenstes onto its surface.
I make small items (coasters) that, after finishing them, they sick together. I have tried many finishes and have the same problem with all of them. io have had this same problem with: Lacquer,...
I am a retired sheet metal worker and have hung miles of spiral pipe. What we did was to first install the hangars, even tempooray ones, like a cradle and then just lift the pipe into place. This...
I am making a few of these and this is my first with sliding lid. I did the inlay with maple and poplar into the bubinga cover and the eastern red cedar box. Double bevel inlay method using my...
I have made a few of these. Sold two and gave two away. This one is made of walnut.414791414790
What I did : Using some sheet metal, I made a 6" long piece of pipe, small enough to fit inside the metal pipe and inside the flex pipe, and then caulk and clamp the three together.
I do a LOT of scroll saw work, 3d cutting and double bevel inlay. I also use Flying Dutchman blades (#5 polar) and #7 Olson Precision Ground blades. which I prefer for 3d cutting.
Bubinga is what I would opt for.
I also use mineral spirits on a cloth, but I am not using water based finish.
I have a Grizzly 2 HP 240 volt dust collector. I ran a metal 6" duct to all my equipment. I avoided the long duct running up to the ceiling and then back down to each tool by positioning my tools...
I would , and have, put all electrical wiring in conduit outside the wall. MUCH easier to change in the future. Install all fourplex outlets. Best thing about my small shop is that I have a toilet...
I also like the lath screws. I keep them in stock in various lengths.
The last time I moved my shop was five years ago. The move was only 4 miles. I ordered a PODS, loaded all my shop equipment in it, myself, and unloaded it all alone also. PODS are only 4" off the...
All wire should be inside the j-box.
When I worked as a sheet metal worker we used a lot of the channel pictured here for mounting duct to the walls. The brands we used were called "Unistrut" and "Superstrut" The 3/8" strut nuts came...
I have a Wixie and it works well. It does use up batteries so fast that I remove the battery between uses. If I were to buy another I would get one that uses 9V batteries. I think Grizzly had one.
I use my 14" Grizzly bandsaw primarily to re-saw six inch cedar, walnut and maple. I use supercut "carbide gold" blades.they have the carbide impregnated into the steel blade and serve me well. ...
I just use a 1/2" sanding drum on my Mastercarver. (A rotary tool like a Dremel). I use this on small box lids, (Hinged)
Rather unusual to see 24 ga. pipe in anything longer than two foot lengths. We only could get it in this shorter length. Now I know why. We used this heavy pipe to connect coal furnaces to brick...
