This is a Natural Edge Ash Burl bowl 12” in diameter,got one core out of it . Finish is Minwax Antique Oil about 10 wipe on wipe off coats. Then buffed. Comments welcome.
I turn wet wood to finish a lot, I always use Minwax Antique Oil. No problem with warpage.

This is a Cherry N.E. burl bowl, size is 8"x4"h. Finish is 8 coats of Minwax Antique Oil. Also some inlay of turquoise was used to fill some voids. Then Beal buffed. Comments welcome!

I use the Thompson V in 1/2" for most of my work. I do have a3/4 Thompson bowl gouge for roughing the outside. He makes some great tools!
