Would spraying with Wet-n-Forget help?
I took a bit of a different approach for my house number when the wood ones rotted. I took a scrap of PVC trim, left white, as the backer board. For the letters and numbers I went to a countertop...
Uneven exposure to the elements, especially the sun?
Thanks for the compliment. My big fear, other than damaging a needle etc., was getting the bits and pieces mixed up. What I did not show is a piece of foam that goes between the lid and the parts...
My 1000 square foot hobby shop is currently being serviced by an old G1028 single stage dust collector. The DC is plumbed into a corner of the shop and is not moveable. The bag has been replaced...
I took Jim's suggestion to heart and created this simple box.403784403785
In doing my latest spraying I've come to realize that my lack of a storage container for the various spray gun implements (needles, caps, etc.) is risky. What do other people use, or is there...
The store manager didn't mention the Extender product. I will indeed check into that. Thanks for the input.
I think I've found a working solution. After checking out various sprayer solutions versus trying a new type of paint I took the recommendation from a JC Licht paint store manager. He was a...
I've checked at 2 different SW retail outlets and both have told me that ProClassic is not available in dark colors.
My customer, who was providing the paint, was given Emerald Interior Acrylic Latex colored to their desired shade.
My last 2 projects have required painting very dark colors (one was black, the other was a dark chocolate brown). I have a 4 stage Fuji HVLP unit and gun that I have very successfully sprayed SW...
Thanks for all the well though out replies. I've bought some router bits today and will be trying them out soon. On the software, I'm still looking at the options. I really need to do some more...
I consider myself to be a middle of the road WW'er with a pretty complete shop. Always looking for a new challenge I purchased a CarveWright machine primarily to make ornamental designs on box lids...
Why couldn't you take a shorter bolt and weld on and extension of threaded stock? You would just have to make sure the weld is well below the needed area of the thread.
Where can you buy the thermally modified wood?
I have one the same or similar. I believe it was from Hitachi.
Thanks for the information. I am surprised that the literacy rate was that high back then. Good looking box. How was the lid carving done?
Pardon my ignorance but would something from the 16th century have metal handles and hinges? Especially for writing materials. I would assume that the only people that could read and write would...
I lead the repair and maintenance committee for a Boy Scout camp. I've been asked to build targets for the camp's BB gun range. They have been described as a pretty simple frame to hold the paper...
I build a book rack for my daughters 2nd grade class. I finished it with a Rustoleum rattle can gloss paint. It's held up very well for a school year so far.
It looks really good.
So what method did you end up using?
Sorry about the delay in replying.....I finally got around to pulling the brushes, they were shot. I replaced them and the problem seemingly went away. I'm building a handicap ramp this week so the...
You might want to smooth both issues by rounding off the gouges and straight edge. To do so I start with a 36 grit flap wheel on a small angle grinder. A light touch is usually needed but remember...
You might want to try buying a different belt. I've gotten belts from the factory that simply won't stay running true. I replaced it and the problem went away.
