I have a small Veritas willing to sell. I think I have two blades (one ground to a point). I don't know how to upload pictures, but can send you an email picture. aetasoff@gmail.com

Most of the comments above reflect probably more expertise than I have, but I noticed that no one mentioned drift angle. I have a 16" Minimax (the subject of a different recent thread). I was...
Regarding my original post of MM 16 bandsaw shutting itself off: On advice of a general contractor friend, he suggested I contact the electric company. A service person came within the hour, and...
I am very grateful to all who replied with very interesting insights . Regarding the lights dimming, this happens with my 45 year old Unisaw ( 3 HP) on a separate "220" line, but I never gave it...
Thank you. I would never have thought of that.
My Minimax 16 bandsaw (about 12 years old, 5 hp, 3/4" Timberwolf blade) has been shutting itself off without being under heavy load, without overheating, and without activating the magnetic switch to...
Another novel approach to a "very complex repair which can only be handled by the experts".
There was at least a 3/16" gap from the belt to the edge of pulley. The replacement looked totally identical, including an illegible symbol on both the new and the original, next to a similar...
I recently fried a belt on this planer (by turning it on with the workpiece jamming the cutter head). Could not find any useful help anywhere on the net to describe replacement. Company, of course,...
I do use an iron when using yellow glue iron on technique, but only use it to loosen a piece of veneer when using the veneer hammer.
At the risk of being banished from the Neanderthals, I routinely plane my curly maple with the Dewalt 13" planer. It comes out like glass.
Thanks again for all replies.
These replies helped me a lot. I had the same question posted on the Neanderthal forum. Alan
Thanks for that, Judson. I read the links. Sounds like you're saying to wet the face surface with the 10% sizing mixture. Does that need to be kept hot (like the full strength ) ? And, I presume,...
Thanks for that , Mike. I just read about the sealing thing somewhere; never tried it. Also, never had this problem before. Maybe it's the veneer porosity or thinness.
Anybody with experience with hot hide glue ? Have used this technique numerous times, using classical method (Coating both sides, got excellent adhesion with curly walnut). Sanded to 320, but there...
My Neanderthal approach to this has been to cut a window in the cardboard canister, and every so often , put a flashlight up to it. It works very well on the 3 h.p. Oneida cyclone.
I moved this machine twice using a landscaper-type trailer (very low to the ground). It was not necessary to dismantle anything or to put it on its side. I bought mine 25 years ago, used, USA...
Does anyone know how to pull the bottom fan assembly off of the armature ? Presumably, this is a replaceable part as gleaned from exploded diagrams, but there is no set screw to loosen. Looks like...
I just got a 735 to replace a previous machine. The "x" model, including the extra knife set and I/0 tables was around $ 550. It works beautifully, and esp. the dust collection, but it is a...
I bought one of these used about 20 years ago, and had it moved on a landscaper-trailer (very low). He was able to back the trailer up to the overhead door of my garage, and we moved it in somehow...
Here are a couple of other questions, having nothing to do with 1st post/second post phenomenon, but a riddle, nonetheless. I have a Bosch ROS65VC sander that needs an external fan assembly. After...
Thanks to all, esp. Mr. Lanciani esp. for the pictures. This looks like it's exactly what I had planned to do, except I was going to put in the the right hand side, but it looks like you have an...
